The past two weeks I have learned about God's character and nature as well as hearing his voice in my life. One great thing that YWAM emphasizes is relationship with God over religious devotion. We have started reading "Is That Really You God?" by Loren Cunningham, the founder of YWAM. We also have hiked up Ben Lomond and Queenstown Hill. We hosted an open worship night at a local church and were able to minister to a few people in Queenstown. This week we are starting lectures on spiritual warfare. Then, in the last 3 months, our class will be sent out to another country so that we can put into practice what we learn and share the gospel with others. This DTS usually sends their classes to Fiji, Papua New Guinee, or Indonesia. While I am unsure which of these countries I will go to yet, I will update you when I find out. I will depart on January 19th and return on June 22nd. I am thrilled to be able to spend half a year focusing on Jesus and obeying His command to share the gospel to the ends of the earth.
